On the 27 August this year Team GB with ITV and National Lottery are trying to get everyone of their couch and active. They want to produce the biggest national sports day ever.
So I thought we could join in on here. On Friday night I will put a post up and pin it, then please feel free to put you activity down, it's not a competition we are just trying to get as many of us active on Saturday as possible. I dosent even have to be running, it could be walking , running, swimming,. Egg and spoon anything you fancy. It dosent matter if your in week one run one or your a graduate. I'm even tempted to bend the rules a bit and have it over two days to take into consideration shift work and family commitments, time differences and things, because we always like a bit of flexibility on here.
My park run has asked us to all go and bring as many people as possible as I think there is a movement to join in with parkrun. I know ours wants to beat their all time attendance of 310 and they don't mind how you do it just as long as your there to help with the numbers. So maybe if you've been wondering about your parkrun but a little nervous it might be a good time to check it out, have a look on their website and see if their doing the same thing.
Also if your supporting another team that's fine too, we wouldn't ask you to jump ship but please feel free to join in and share which country you supporting.
So get your thinking caps on and let's see how many of us we can get motivated for Saturday the 27th August.

Great idea rfc! Might even take my two boys along to parkrun (they're currently on week 6 and 7 so it would be good to get them involved!). Am off to look at the link now🙂.
Ah yes fab ! I had signed up at the I am Team GB website and one of the events was a taster session with BMF ( British Military Fitness ) . This is something I have been looking into previously , they have classes at a park not that far from me . The only downside is I cannot justify the monthly fee at the moment and I know if I went to the taster , I would get all giddy and join up when I cant really afford to ,if you see what I mean
So , I am going to do our local parkrun instead .I haven't been for yonks what with my long run on Sunday for my HM training. It will be nice to do one again xxx
anyone on week 6 or later could do parkrun. It's fine to run / walk and I know they love to see you. I can't do saturday, but I will be doing a run sunday, so I'll add my run in.
