Tuesday was my rubbish run. Woke up Wednesday with a mega limp- my left leg felt about 2 inches too short because my hamstring was as taut as an over-tuned violin string and it was really uncomfy/ sore :(

Then it dawned on me (I am a bit slow) that I had been gardening on the Tuesday morning! 2 hours+ of weeding and tidying etc. Crouching down had obviously taken it's toll. Stretched, walked, stretched and stretched all afternoon and went to bed barely comfier, hoping for the best today.

Woke up better but still nowhere near 'right'.

Such a gorgeous day here though- with quite a rubbish forecast for the end of the week- that I just had to be out in it. Been running evenings lately but wanted to catch the lambs and views in daylight!

At 10am it was sunny but still quite breezy and with a wee chill to it so decided that I'd get geared up and give it a go, stopping at the start of any proper pain.

Over exaggerated my steps as I walked down the quite steep hill to my running place and stopped a few times to 'extra' stretch and felt it was ok.

Started my run, felt ok, so plodded along.

I had still been running with the week 9 podcast. I don't wear head/ earphones as I like to hear what's going on round me- on a cycle path so often get bells ringed etc.- but it quietly plays away. I barely listened to Laura the last few runs but found her reassuring in my hand! Wanted to break the habit and just run to other music but I'm on a new phone, my music is scattered between 2 old computers and really I'm not savvy enough to spend hours sorting through it all. So, I treated myself to the downloaded purchase of 'The Nations Favourite Running Songs' from the Google Play Store. It's fab'! Shuffle play saw it cutting between recent-ish tracks like 'Uptown Funk' and oldies like 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' and 'Eye of the Tiger'! Thankfully my plod was mostly solitary as I did catch myself singing out loud for the odd tune! Poppy doesn't mind, she's learned over the years that it is NOT cat's wailing!!

Must have made a difference as the muscles held up, my first mile was a p.b and despite the belting sun that got hot very quickly and my sweaty wilting with a couple of stops for photos, I plodded to 5k in 38m 25s. 2 and a half minutes off my p.b. but a very satisfying result :)

Seized up again this afternoon but hoping to get hubby to massage the leg later!

Whether running or on the IC, hope you've had a good day everyone :)
