Week 7 Run 2

Really pleased with my progress but is 3km in 25 mins good enough ? Not going to hit the 5km in 30 mins at this rate 😱

You're not supposed to. The point of the programme is to get you to running 30 minutes, not 5k in 30 minutes (although the name does kinda indicate that). Most people don't run 5k at the end of W9. I would estimate about 95%.

Whatever speed you are running at is the right speed for you, as long as it is managable and you are not too breathless to converse a bit while running. If you're comfortable with your pace, keep going. If it is a struggle slow down.

You don't have to run 5K in 30 mins... the programme is intendedo get you to run, continuously, for 30 mins...

It is all about Stamina! On here, a lot of folk never do 5K in 30 mins...some do more, some do less... some never manage it.. it does not matter. :)

I'm on the same run as you and measured the distance for the first time, not near the 5k and all the replies are true it doesn't matter it's such an achievement to run for 25 minutes. Well done.

Well done - as many folks mentioned running for 25 mins and enjoying it is the key.

It is fine.

What ever your pace/distance is at this stage is the right one for you,

Keepgoingvas you are and youbwill do just fine plenty of time to work on distance and pace after graduation, good luck 😊

Sounds a good pace to me- because it's the right one for you :)

C25k is definitely the programme to get you to 5k but 'from couch' there are very few who can do it at the end of week 9 in 30 minutes.

My current p.b. is 35m59s and it's going down steadily. I'm just concentrating on keeping up 3 x 30 min runs a week for now. For me, the fitness of being out there at whatever pace is far more important than being plonked back on my bum in the sofa!

Well done, keep going :)
