Week 8 - Done!

Hello everyone!

I ran W8R3 this evening and found it really enjoyable. It was very cold and windy, but I warmed up quickly. It was still light as I ran, which was novel - it's something I'll have to get used to! :) I looked out for Mr Fox but yet again he wasn't around - I think maybe it was too light for him.

The run was actually really uneventful. I kept a good, consistent pace, my legs weren't wading through honey as it felt like on run 2 of this week, I wasn't heckled... it was just a good run that I enjoyed :) Sadly I lost a little pace towards the end. I suffer sporadically from intense uterine pains, and in the final 3 minutes and during the cool down walk I was in so much pain I was almost crying out, which obviously made me slow down, but I kept going nonetheless.

I didn't break any personal records today, but I am happy that I completed the run and this week. I've really felt that I could keep going after the 28 minute runs this week, but I have decided to stick to the plan to avoid injury and the like. I feel confident about starting week 9.

My lovely cousin who I mentioned competed in the Kingston 10K at the weekend generously donated to my British Heart Foundation 5k run at the end of March in Regent's Park, which I am ecstatic about. Are any c25k-ers going to be running it? :)

I'm going to have to have a sit down at some point this week and figure out what I want to do after graduation. Obviously I have my 5k to look forward to, and the Race for Life 5k in May, but I think I need to set myself some smaller/other goals besides. I'm thinking maybe the C25k+ plan as many people on here rave about it! :) But I'll come up with some more concrete plans when I'm not so busy.

I hope that everyone has had a successful week so far! :)

Yay! Go Yam! You're doing brilliantly and are so close now. It's so exciting to be planning our running lives after C25K isn't it?! Well done for today, keep it up :)

Well done. Almost there!

So many of us are about to graduate and I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with everyone beyond C25K to see what we all get up to next x

Another runner so close to graduation! There is definitely a running bug going around at the moment - I think we catch it off this forum!

Enjoy your next 3 runs, they aren't that different from W8. You're so used to running at this stage, you'll hardly notice the extra 2 mins.

Let us know about your post-graduation plans. I've got my first 2 graduation runs planned in my head, but am notorious for doing something completely different (that's why the structure of the programme was so good for me). Will be interested to see your ideas!

Well done Yamiskoi, only a week left and you are there. If you was confident over week 8, then you have no worries for week 9, it'll be over before it started. I have my parkrun this weekend, will also have a look at the Regent's Park one.

I'll probably start the C25K+ plan next week, doing 1 each on rotation. The excitement of what to do next is just awesome. If Regents Park is close to you, maybe there is a parkrun available there.

Good luck with your graduation week & run. Will keep an eye out for your post.

Well done yamiskoi, :)

Yes, its funny that when we finish the plan we are really only beginning to realise how much we have accomplished. We have become runners

and running becomes part of our lives...

Good luck on Week 9 you will smash it. x

Well done you...keep it slow, and steady, try to focus on the now and not the next maybe.

So close and you are doing brilliantly... I am about to head out into the Staffordshire sunshine!

You stay focussed, follow the plan and you will finish in style, to quote the lovely Laura! :)
