2 years ago I had reason to do a fitness test and was taken ill as I was so unfit and this resulted in me being taken to hospital by ambulance. I have always had a pretty poor attitude towards exercise, it was something other people did and at school i was the last to be picked for any teams in PE and would have done anything to avoid it. This isn't a poor me type post and I knew that i needed to make a change.
This evening I can proudly say i've graduated having hurdled dogs, swallowed flies, swerved horse doo doo and I have already signed up for parkrun. Thanks C25K!

Congratulations! I empathise with your attitude towards exercise, but the great thing about C25K is that it's so gradual, and you can do it in your own time and at your own pace. So much better than being thrown in at the deep end at school, when it was expected you could run whether you could or not. I graduated recently but am still plucking up courage to sign up for a parkrun (though I've run the route). Hope you enjoy yours!
Hurdled! Swerved! You're a veritable Action Man! Well done you!
I'm glad you mentioned "make a change" I'm so pleased you've realised that's what you have to do. So many don't. They like the idea of being fitter and healthier but don't go that step further and do anything about it, so it's great that you have and Graduated. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Congratulations!
Flies, horse poo! You'll be running in the pouring rain next, and loving it! You won't recognise yourself in a bit
So, what next? C25k+ podcasts are really good and will take your running to the next level
Somehow C25K and running almost don't seem like 'exercise'
My heart sank at my children's school being a 'sports college' but was surprised and delighted to find that both my offspring quite liked PE despite not being very 'good' (to be fair one of them was not able to participate in normal PE lessons but they paid for him to go to the gym and climbing wall instead)
Thank you for this inspiring and encouraging post, and congratulations! I'm doing this programme second time round having stopped running for health reasons last year. Your post has encouraged me to keep going!
