I'm taking part in the 5k Race for life on Sunday but I'm only on week six of nine of the coach to 5k program because I went on holiday and missed out two weeks. I want to jog the whole race I can keep going for about 25mins but I'm very slow and I only have only managed to do 2 1/2 miles in that time what do you think of my chances?

Go for it, do it your way , if I remember the ads correctly you can walk it all if you like :D

if you are going to run from the start , just go as slow as you need to :D would be easy to get dragged along with the greyhounds in the pack :D just enjoy the day :D

Completing the course is far more important that being able to run all the way. Take it really (really) slow and if it gets too much take a break and walk for a bit. There's no prize for coming in first, but there is the huge satisfaction when stepping over the finish line.

You can do it! No shame in walking for part of it - plenty of others will be! The atmosphere on the day will carry you along. Beware of setting out too fast - you don't want to end up out of puff!

Go for it. No shame in walking for a bit. Like already said go at your own pace. Good luck and let us know.

I'm also doing the Race for Life on Sunday (Irvine)!! I have just finished Wk8 but am a long way from running 5K. I'm just going to take it REALLY slow, walk up any inclines and hope the adrenaline gets me over the finish line in an upright position! Good luck and lets hope for good weather!

Good luck to both of you, and just remember...the fact that your getting up and doing it at all is amazing and as already been said the atmosphere gets the adrenaline going and sweeps you along whether you run, jog or walk its a fantastic day for a fantastic cause so be proud!! ☺
