Is lined with toned muscles! I'm waiting for the physio appt and when I'm on top of the wretched shin splints I shall invest in something called a "beginner's running MOT" offered by the same clinic and recommended by the lovely physio at work.
Am thinking of having a go at a spin class; I HATE swimming and am not to be trusted on a bike that actually goes from A to B.
In the meantime, I have been stretching and stretching and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g. I had a go at Davina this morning (not literally, I didn't shout at her) but my shins said "stop" so I did. Back to some upper body stuff and more stretches. The result of this seems to be... Muscles. Not sure how I feel about this, but I THINK it's good; when you google "leg muscles" and the diagrams come up with all the names on I can find them all in my own legs. Particularly the Vastus Medialis; the bit of your thigh on the inside of your knee. Think it's a result of my constantly stretching out calf muscles. Husband said "blimey, wife, you could crack walnuts with these!"
