Thanks for the reminder. I heard it advertised and then forgot. Just listened on catchup. I had read about him - and the Ron Clarke stuff in The Austerity Olympics about 1948 so enjoyed the programme. Also had no idea Arthur Smith had been quite the athlete. The book is quite interesting about the different conditions around those games.

Husband who's not a runner but was interested in middle distance running in his 'youf' told me about this. He said it was a wonderful programme and talked about it for ages yesterday evening. A Must-Listen, methinks!
