Just ordered a foam roller, seeing as a lot of people seem to recommend them for muscle stretching/massage. I've gone for a smooth one to start with, I don't think I'm ready for the punishment of a nubbly one yet!

Well done! They do hurt a lot at the beginning but it's a "good" pain and after a while doesn't hurt at all.
I know what you mean about the knobbly ones. They have one at the gym and I've used it once!
Well, foam roller arrived. Have to admit, I was expecting it to be a bit softer than this. It's so hard it might as well be a piece of pipe. And I'm too heavy and my wrists are too weak to do much on it for long, but I gave it a try. It does hurt!
Well, been using the foam roller after my walk away the pounds workout in the mornings, as calf still hurts too much to run. JESUS it Hurts!! I don't know why it should, but almost every part of my legs is deep agony where the roller goes, except ,oddly enough, the pulled part of the calf. No way would I ever go to a physio massage now, cos I bet they would keep pummelling even though it hurt this much and I would probably want to punch her. At least with the roller I can stop when I want
