I followed the plan for 11weeks and have got to 2k. Still working on increasing distance, I think I develop muscle slowly. Any tips?

Hi Carrie what week are you on in the program? I'm guessing that you have repeated some of the weeks. Everyone has their own speed to achieve and complete the C25K so don't worry if its taking you longer, the best way though is to run regularly, ideally 3 times a week.

O come on Carrie, it is still 2k more than you could run 11 weeks ago!

Stop trying so hard, relax and enjoy. The distance will come eventually.

Your never on your own carrie57 if you post on here regularly, ask your questions or just post your feelings, have a grumble, shout out your achievements, this is a lovely friendly place and while I am at heart a lone runner I'm never alone due to this site.

As far as your running goes per the programme are you using the NHS C25K podcasts? If so you must be on your graduation week, so if that's the case very well done. Don't worry about your distance that will get better and you have loads of time to work on it after graduation. By the way you will graduate as soon as you run 3 times for 30 minutes without stopping, you do not have to achieve the 5K distance, many new runners don't in the early stages.

There is a follow up set of podcasts after C25K called C25K+ which consist of 3 different routines, Stamina, Speed and Stepping Stones these are designed to help you get stronger, faster and achieve your distance goals. They are what many use for the bridge from 5K to 10K although I only ever used Speed as they hadn't been released when I first graduated so I did my own thing.

Let us know how week 9 goes and once you have run for 30 minutes non stop 3 times you can say you have graduated. Don't forget to ask for your very well earned badge too. Happy running :)
