I had a virus/cold thing at the end of November, and now have no energy. Managed to run 1.5 miles yesterday, but oh so slowly....almost a minute per mile slower than pre-virus! Any tips on how to get back to form?

I was doing 5 miles quite regularly before, and am fed up with being dreary and tired!!!!

I've been the same for a few weeks but managed a run yesterday but I didn't expect to be any good, not that I ever am! LOL I think you have to look after yourself, paying close attention to a good diet to help with your fitness. Lighter nights now so I think we all feel better just for that. If you can combine running with some other exercise it all helps.

It's good to know I'm not the only one! I usually (used to !) swim and run on alternate days, but can't even get my act together to go to the pool! Let's hope we get better weather and some sunshine! Thank you .

Still very snotty and got bunged up ears but I will run tomorrow or bust. You can't keep a good girl down. LOL

I hope you're feeling a bit more sommat like today, and you can get back out there.

Hi!

I had pneumonia one and a half month ago and had to take strong antibiotics. Once the course of antibiotics was finished, my lungs were cleread of the infection, but I was a total wreck. I could not even walk my dog or mantain a conversation without getting exausthed.

I am no apologist for dietary supplements. I eat a healthy balanced diet and that should be enough. But I was exausthed, had absolutly no energy and not improving so I decided to complement my diet with a multi vitamin and a probitic. I also gave in to the craving of sugary foods, at least for a while. It made a huge difference! I still feel quite tired, need more sleep than before, but I'm running again!

Yesterday I went out and ran 5 kms. It was slow but I did it with a huge smile on my face.

This was a long story, but what I wanted to say is the following: even if you folow a healthy varieted diet, with enough fruit and vegs, it could be your body needs a extra boost.

This is interesting - i have a very healthy diet (I'm diabetic, so have to!) but i have also wanted sugary foods recently - i think your comments about multi vitamins etc make sense and will nip out today to get some.

And also, that your run was slow - it's really good to know that i am not the only one.

I just hate being dreary and drippy - even loading the washing machine tires me out, which is really unlike me.

Here's to feeling better soon !!

Thank you
