[Cue Rocky music or other such cheesy but secretly inspiring tunes]

It was the perfect day. It wasn't too sunny, there was rain earlier, a bit of a breeze to keep me cool as I set out this evening for my last required rendezvous with Laura. You just know at the start of the session if it's going to be good, and I could feel it right there. I was just out in time to be able to do the trail run, although I have to admit I was very slightly wondering if I was being a bit reckless given the time of day. It added that little bit of adrenaline to the riverside section of my route, that's for sure.

Now about those curries... at lunchtime today when I went into the canteen, I saw they had a nice spinach and chickpea curry on offer , so rather than grabbing a sandwich again I thought I'd sit down with a cooked meal for a change. I had a long afternoon at work and got home at least 40 minutes later than usual to find my other half had a meal all ready for me as he does when I work. You know what's coming don't you? I looked at the delicious plate of curry (mark two) and thought, am I really going running tonight....? Let's just say from the halfway mark on I was keeping a certain amount of tension in my buttocks, and leave it at that.

My actual running part covered about 4.25k, but I did 5.61 in total with the walks, so I'm pretty pleased with that. I had toyed with the idea of carrying on running for a bit longer, but the second Laura said I could stop I did, so that was that. I did a few imaginary high fives with all you lovely people who have been so supportive over the past 2.5 months, and I did feel a little misty-eyed thinking of what I'd achieved. In many ways though, I feel the real challenge begins now; to maintain and build on the grounding from C25K. I don't want to lose what I've found.

And Sue - I refer you back to your comment on my wk5 r3 blog: "I'm not popping the champagne though until you graduate; its chillin nicely for you until then!

Sue x:" Can you go and pop it now please??? It must be niiiice and cold.

I'm dedicating this run to my late colleague Steve. I would never have started this journey without the aim of doing the Race for Life in his memory. Look where it's taken me.Thank you for giving me the gift of running. You'll always be in my thoughts when I hit the road.

Now I'm off to hunt down that badge! Happy running everybody.

Wonderful, marvellous, super dooper, positive blog! Many congratulations upon your graduation! ;) :) :D

You must be feeling soooo chuffed this morning ... Did you sleep at all? Maybe your legs were keen to get out there again. So,.... we can deduce from this that curries are the new bananas? Whatever lights your candle, floats yer boat etc etc. Have a great celebration. Welcome to the grad club. Wear the badge with pride! :) Cheers, Linda xx

Wooo hooo!!!! I'm so pleased for you and yes, the champagne is well chilled for you, just sorry I didnt see this post yesterday!! But hey, lets pop it today and have a post-graduation party!! You can never have too much sparkly stuff!! :D ;)

You wont lose what you have built up if you are determined to keep at it and Steve gave you the gift of running so keep hold of it in his memory and when you dont feel like going out, think of him and his present to you......I'm sure that will spur you on.

Also, keep coming here for inspiration and motivation from your friends and buddies. Without this I know I wouldnt still be out there 9 months after starting this; it really does keep you going!

Congratulations again and welcome to the Grad Club Tati!
