I was diagnosed with diverticulitis three years ago. I manage this through diet and generally have few issues.
However around three weeks ago my bowl habits changed - I have gone from going regularly to struggling to go. When I do go I feel as if I have only passed a small amount.
I have had abdominal pains and worryingly weight loss - only around 5lbs - I regularly use steroids for eosinophilic asthma ( my eosinophils are generally high ) and it is very difficult for me to lose weight.
I managed to get an appointment with a GP ( a story in itself ), to be fair he didn't fob me off - I was 50 in the summer - he is arranging a colonoscopy and I have had my bloods taken.
My diverticulitis was diagnosed via a colonoscopy - at the time I didn't really think it would be anything serious and I was proved right.
Unfortunately I don't have that feeling this time. I have tried to put a brave face on but secretly I am bracing myself for the worst.

Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear that you are having to deal with this. You are doing all the right things.
You are all over this. As I was reading I was saying "needs colonoscopy" and you are doing just that. Please focus on getting the answers. Your last colonoscopy was 3 years ago and whatever you have going on was not present. You are right that the abdominal pain needs to be checked out.
In my case, I did not catch things early. I was stage 4 colon cancer from diagnosis. My Onc. said what they took out of me was a polyp 6 years ago. Your window is 3 years and you are getting it taken care of. That's a good reason to be positive.
Could the weight loss be due to the abdominal pain and not eating as much?
We do hope your colonoscopy gets you the answers you need and turn out to be something early and easily managed. Please let us know what you find out. This information can be helpful to others on this site.
BTW ... are you a cyclist🚲 or a motor biker🏍? I do some cycling.
All the best,
~Tom, GCCA Survivor - Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.

I have a similar situation that hashas been going on awhile..too long really. I was on prednisone and then got a covid vaccine last year. Ever since I had blockages and problems. One day I thought to try garlic and pumpkin seeds and I ate them for 4 days. On that day, mad parasites came out. I got a wormer and thought I waswas fine. I started to gain weight easily. Then a month ago, it happened again. Today I am now on holistic health using unbelievable supplements and found massive heavy metals with more parasites. If you want to try that route as well I hope I cacan help because its so scary, I know. I feel my health coming back and no colonoscopy done. Blockage in your small intestine from parasites, fungus and metals..my god it hurts too. Ill leave links to what im using, slow and steady. Oh, stomach breathe, to relax your colon ..when you can. It can help too. I did this:
And I did fulvic acid but go very slow if you do try it. Its too powerful to do a full dose at first. It wow got stuff moving, thank god.
Funny an English guy I met turned me onto it.
I do liquid protein shakes, probiotic Florastor, and serrapeptase. Its... finally, the magic combination.
Bodies are so resilient when we give them what they need to heal. I lost 35 pounds till this. Oh, check your sinus too? I think its true. Sh!+ Really does roll down hill. Lol..had to joke to keep my mind from fear and laughter is best medicine.
I think I was 40 percent parasite,40 percent heavy metal(ouch) and 10 fungus. Im 10 percent left and climbing though. Miracle.
Things can change in an instant. Its never too late.
