Hi Eddery

I have just got home from hospital after having a neutropenic fever. No cause found,

Post my 1 week of chemo

My neutrophil level was at 0.3. I have had iv antibiotics for 5 days.

I am now being extra careful with food prep etc eating and buying as fresh as we can.

Any idea what Absolute Neutrophil Count was before your 1 week of chemo?

Cheers

Hi keepfit123

My neutrophil count was 5.00 before treatment.

I have not received any treatment for my CLL and have no symptoms and feel well.

I had neutropenia about five months ago.

My count fell to 0.7 and I was told to get to hospital ASAP. I was the subject of much interest and general concern and confined to a private side-ward (really boring). The good news is, I felt fine throughout (this confused the clinicians as they kept asking if I was certain I felt well) and was released into the wild after only one and a half days, once my count rose above 1.

All is well at present, and no-one knows why I had the event.

I now understand my condition was potentially dangerous, but, I'm still here (obviously), so, what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

My last 6 readings of Absolute Neutrophil Count have been in the range 2.1 to 1.2(latest).These are on the low side and I wonder what will happen after the first cycle of FCR.
