Thank you for posting the article, which was of particular interest to me as I had radiotherapy treatment around 30 years before being diagnosed with CLL. The 30 years lag is consistent with radiation induced caner and I had often wondered if the two were linked. My doctors have always ruled out any connection, and this article seems to confirm their view (my capitalisation):

"The LNT [Linear No-Threshold] has been modified slightly in two respects: data from the Life Span Study for the incidence at intermediate doses of leukaemias (OTHER THAN CHRONIC LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKAEMIA, WHICH SEEMS TO BE NON-RADIOGENIC [7]) correlate well with a linear-quadratic curve [8], similar to that shown in Figure 1..."

As I understand it, that says that CLL specifically doesn't appear to be caused by radiation.

Yes, in this case probbly not radiation...but certainly a recent study of clean up workers at Chernobyl found gamma and neutron radiation did increase risk of CLL. Medical x-ray radiation is quite different however.

Always ensure x-ray needed and bear in mind we are getting background radiation all the time from geology especially if you live in Cornwall and Scotland
