I have not seen the term negative for B cell lymphoma used with FISH, but one can have a “normal” FISH test and still have cll. A FISH test usually looks for the most common chromosomal cll abnormalities like 17p, 13q, trisomy and 11q.

There are other more rare abnormalities that cause Cll that dont show up on a standard FISH test.

It’s the flow cytometry test that shows if one has cll. Now I also suppose it’s possible, but not typical, for someone on a btk drug therapy to get to mrd undetectable and then have other normal tests.

Was this your first FISH test?

I’ve had two others in the past. I believe this was a specific test to see if I had something a long with CLL which is negative. I got sick with covid a few months ago and it caused me to have issues which now have resolved but my lymph nodes where huge among other things! I did have a CT scan last week which did confirm CLL. I was really surprised that my spleen was actually normal size but had so many lymph nodes in the neck area but those have seemed to resolve almost to normal size. My last fish test before this one said I didn’t have any of the markers for progressive cll. I should find out today what the test was for.
