Hi All,
I’m in the middle of Ven ramp up, going well so far. Any advice from fellow travellers about planning holidays in Sept?
Hi All,
I’m in the middle of Ven ramp up, going well so far. Any advice from fellow travellers about planning holidays in Sept?
Since you're still in the ramp up and we're talking just 60 days away, I'd plan a trip you can fully cancel last minute for a full (or almost full) refund. I'd probably also plan a trip that doesn't require a lot of go-go-go for you to enjoy, but focuses more on passive entertainment, rest, and relaxation, in case the highest level treatment takes more out of you than you expect. And I'd plan for more outdoors than indoors b/c the weather should be good, and you're normally in a more immunocompromised state in treatment. And I'd plan on having a lot of fun.
I took a trip to Australia 2 months after starting the ramp up, and South Africa 3 months after that with no issues. Like MisfitK though I had as many refundable bookings as I could make. It will depend on how you’re feeling in September, of course, but I wish you well for a nice holiday somewhere. Go for a relaxing trip though.
I went to Portugal a few weeks ago ( cycle nine of Ventoclax)
It was nice to get away was nervous of airport and aeroplane with lots of people but I was fine . My holiday was very laid back with short walks and a lot of relaxing in the sun ( with shade ) . We ate outside normally lunchtime as I am still prone to feeling tired towards the end of the day . Just one observation, I had a several insect bites which became quite troublesome, they have now gone but took a while , I make this point because I have never been bothered by bites until now . I plan on going back in September when fingers crossed my Ventoclax will be finished.
Enjoy your break it’s good to have a change of scenery.
Have you discussed it with your Dr? Will you still be needed multiple blood draws? I needed multiple draws with my ramp up sometimes 2 in one day. Wishing you luck!
Thanks Wendy. I think I’ll have to think it out again 😉
