My father recently got covid and had to be hospitalised for the same. He got covid related pneumonia and had to be on oxygen support (nasal cannula) for the first two days of his hospital stay. He also had elevated d dimer and CRP values. Doctors at the centre put him on a 5 day course of remdesvir and other supporting medication.
While his oxygen levels improved and d dimer and he is eventually discharged, he still continues to test covid positive 14 days past his first symptom. What's shocking is that his CT value seems to be decreasing rather than increasing.
Does anyone have any advices on how to best manage this situation ? How long does he need to quarantine for ? What precautions should we take to help.him heal effectively at home.

Hi sorry to hear your dad had a bad time with Covid. It took me 21 days to test negative so I didn’t go out until I was negative. However, I believe you can renter the community earlier than this. Sorry I can’t say when.
Given your other concerns about your dads recovery I would speak with his CLL doctor. Hope this helps.
It took me 22 days to test negative which included a 5 day course of Paxlovid for which I was tested negative for one day after and then rebounded and was positive again.
The rebound wasn’t nearly as bad as the initial infection.
