Travel Insurance for Kiwis ( New Zealander) with CLL

Hi

I have CLL (diagnosed 2007 male age 53) and have been on Ibrutinib since September 2018 which is still working fine.

Associated high blood pressure and AF is controlled with Pardaxa and Bisoprolol Fumarate

After three years of lock down I am considering travelling to Europe and the USA in the next few months. Previous travel insurance companies that would provide cover for someone with my conditions have not survived the Covid epidemic.

We have tried several travel insurance companies but have been declined

My question is do any other fellow CLLers know where this flightless Kiwi (New Zealander) may be able to obtain travel insurance and regain his wings?

Thanking you in anticipation

Moorsa

Hello , i am in Perth, Australia and going on a a domestic cruise and train back from Sydney, and i used Cover-more as suggested by holiday agent. However i had to pay over $350 extra for my health conditions and a policy for two came to over $1500. But it is top cover with

limited covid cover. Incidentally they just asked if i was treated or untreated, and i replied untreated. Guess Insurance is expensive now and for someone who hasnt travelled for three years like me a surprise.

Hi Paul thank you for your reply. I have tried Cover-more here in NZ but they can not find cover for me. I did consider travelling with no cover But while my Gp considers me fit and healthy he reminded me that at 70 years old there is a higher risk of needing medical care regardless of CLL. Cheers

UK here so can’t help with companies in ANZ. I have an annual policy with direct line. their option was to exclude CLL. it meant I was covered as normal but not for anything associated with CLL. if you are confident in your CLL stability and treatment it could be a cost effective option. I am watch and wait, so only downside is potential cancellation so I wouldn’t book far in advance for fear of need to cancel.
