Attended clinic today not good news but not as bad as I thought, amimia is getting worse, spleen enlarged, to see him again in 6 weeks instead of 6 months. However I am feeling much better lung infection gone, starting to breath normally again so swings and roundabouts.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. IMO you are nearing the need for treatment (unless the anemia is very mild and spleen just recently became enlarged), and having the lung problem clear up before needing to start is always best I think.

FWIW, I am one of those who prefer to treat a little sooner rather than waiting until one *must*. I personally had an experience of not being anemic At All before one treatment, then needing a blood transfusion because my RBC's happened to be adversely affected. After that experience, I prefer to give myself as much leeway as possible. Which manifested again in a brief neutropenia during induction with another treatment, which was easily controlled. So I am firmly in the camp of "start when your consultant recommends it/says it is nearing, don't try to push it off in case you are unlucky".
