It was unclear to me from the article to identify the authors exact academic locations that were polled, however, my perspective on academic centers is threefold. The first being research Universities with dedicated CLL research programs such as Ohio State U. The second is dedicated cancer centers like Sloan Kettering or Huntsman Cancer Institute which was mentioned. Thirdly would be Medical hospitals with specialized programs hosting clinical trials such as Willamette Valley Cancer institute being a member of the U.S. Oncology network.

Thanks for clarifying what was meant by "Academic Centers" JM. Interesting to read that there's a survival advantage of nearly 3 years. I've said a few times previously that members of our community should see a significantly improved survival time too; they know to get up to date with their vaccinations, which should reduce their likelihood of early death due to infections and they also know which are the better treatments, the importance of finding a CLL specialist and much more.

Thank you for sharing the study compared 2004 - 2018 - I can only imagine what would be the results if the study was accomplished from 2018 to 2021 with all the new advances in CLL treatments!
