Has anyone had to go on chemo even after using Calquence?
Hi Newny,
We'd like to help you with some suggestions, but your profile and past postings are very sparse, so it is difficult to compose a useful reply.
A few comments based only on what you asked:
For someone in the USA that is getting excellent guidance from a CLL expert, it would probably be very unusual to use traditional Chemo, unless some other complications are involved - e.g. a Richter's transformation to DLBCL, etc.
If after 5 years on Calquence and assuming you are CR or PR (Complete Remission or Partial Remission) many USA doctors would put you back on watch & wait to see how long your remission is, and then use Venetoclax with or without Obuinutuzumab / Gazyva.

Please reply to this posting with more details or add them to your profile so we know more of your circumstances and what a CLL expert doctor recommends.

Hello Newny
As lankisterguy says we are short a lot of your history information. I have been through something similar. When have discussions with my CLL Specialist on first CLL treatment, he stated that you can do chemo, (BR or FCR) then ibrutinib, (Inhibitor drug), but cannot do inhibitor drug followed by chemo. However, I did BR as my first CLL treatment and when my first treatment with V&O caused anaphylactic shock, doctor gave me a choice of repeating BR or trying to continue V&O. I choose to continue V&O with no major adverse effects other than fever first 5 days. Blessing.
