Update after uMRD/completed antiobiotic

I am not feeling very good at all. I was hoping that after I completed the round of antibiotics on Monday, that I would be seeing some improvement. Every day this week seems to be getting worse. My ankles are swollen, and my knees are also swollen. I have joint pain in the ankles, knees, wrist and shoulder. Today I can barely walk it is so painful. I have been having this issue off and on for the past 2 months. I was hoping that after I completed the Venetaclax things would get better (still extremely happy to be uMRD). I am so tired all the time and nauseous. I am not sure what to do. The only medication I am still taking is Acyclovir and Chlorthalidone. Anyone else having these issues? I have reached out to my doctor this morning.

No experience with the medications. Just hoping you and your medical team find a way for you to enjoy your uMRD!

Buster, the following link is information about Chlorthalidone which MAY be your problem???

Please read the list of side effects I have copied from the link.

I am not medically trained so I am only suggesting you rule out this medicine by talking to your Dr who prescribed the medicine today to get a medical view on your symptoms and ask for a blood test of electrolytes.

Chlorlorthalidone may cause serious side effects. Call your Dr. if you have:

a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;

low sodium--headache, confusion, slurred speech, severe weakness, vomiting, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady;

low potassium--leg cramps, constipation, irregular heartbeats, fluttering in your chest, increased thirst or urination, numbness or tingling, muscle weakness or limp feeling;

low magnesium--dizziness, irregular heartbeats, feeling jittery, muscle cramps, muscle spasms, cough or choking feeling; or

kidney problems--little or no urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath.

Common side effects of chlorthalidone may include:

low blood pressure (feeling light-headed);

kidney problems;

dizziness; or

an electrolyte imbalance (such as low levels of potassium, sodium, or magnesium in your blood).

Please let us know how things go

Sorry to hear you are still feeling so unwell. I think it's very likely if you did have an infection that it still has not cleared. I have had an ongoing infection since mid March.

I have had a 5 day course of Amoxicillin, another 7 day course a week after that, 2 weeks of Co-Amoxiclav a week later, prophylactic antibiotics two weeks after that (still on those), IV antibiotics and another week of Co-Amoxiclav orally and two weeks later IV pipetacillin+taxobactam for 3 days and another course of Co-Amoxiclav orally...it's been nearly 5 months, unbelievable...if your immune system is beaten, maybe you just can't shake it off either?

I'm glad you got in touch with your doctor. I had terrible fatigue even when I wasn't sick but every time the infection flared up, it was unbearable. Nausea can be a result of antibiotics too, at least I get it sometimes.

I really hope you can get to the bottom of it soon as I hate to hear you cannot fully enjoy the fact you have done so well with your treatment. Please let us know how things are going for you.
