Hi friends. Since my anticovid 2 vaccination began with Sinophar and an Astrazeneca booster, my platelets began to drop. I had 230 and reached 170 in 8 months. I have more Hemaromas, petechiae, that if I scratch them hard they can bleed. I have good coagulation though. I am in treatment with ibrutinib and I am doing well. In fact, my hematologist reduced my dose from 3 to 2 and the numbers are still good. The platelets that are going down can be the effect of the vaccines? Or maybe for the dose of 1 ibrutinib pill? Has anyone been through a similar experience? Sorry my english. I am from Argentina. Greetings to all and I wish you the best!

Your latest platelet count is still within the normal range (150 - 450) and you note that you have good coagulation, which is reassuring. It's fairly common to have some petechiae and bruising on BTK inhibitors like ibrutinib, even with good platelet counts. Thrombocytopenia (lowered platelet counts) is extremely rare after COVID-19 vaccinations: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
For peace of mind, it's worth asking your specialist. Knowing the timing of your vaccinations would help them to determine if they could be involved/contributing.

Hi my platelets were gradually dropping over time to 120 and I started to eat cooked kale with a little butter with most meals for about 6 month and at my last blood count platelets were just over 180. I eat a couple of times a week now. I always look up on Google if I can eat to improve things. I’m on watch and wait.
