Just received Evusheld injections in Westchester county NY hospital. 1 injection simultaneously given in each buttock. Uneventful observable response. Feel a lot less vulnerable. We'll see.

Evusheld
Desti—- did they give you any Benedryl or prednisone to prevent a reaction?
I got the two injections two days ago -- I had no side effects. There were no premeds. They watch you for an hour after the injections. One injection has a slight burn, and the other I felt it slightly, but no "burn" -
I called all of the facilities near me that had doses and asked the pharmacy if they were actually administering it at their facility. Then I made a video appt. with a primary care physician associated with a hospital that was already giving it. The physician had never heard of EVUSHELD, but did contact the infectious disease committee, and I was approved for it later that day. I got scheduled the next day at the hospital's infusion center, where it is administered. I feel a lot safer now. I am in California.
You can see who has how many currently available doses by scrolling to the bottom of the web page for the Health and Human Services distribution and available doses at drug stores, hospitals, & clinics in the U.S. website for Evusheld, Paxlovid , and Molnupiravir:
how does one get Evusheld?
My local oncologist suggested I get it as there are a limited number available in the state (Nebraska) and are going to the most vulnerable of the immunocompromised upon their doctors recommendation (limited by area & medical systems throughout the state). I asked if I could possibly put it off until next week (this week was chemo). I'm scheduled for Monday morning (he also said if I missed this round, I would be wait-listed until more was available).
Try and follow through on that appointment. I know first hand how difficult chemo can be and I appreciate that you’d rather do anything on your off day then go back to the hospital for shots. But getting Evushld is worth it, especially since the chemo makes your immune system vulnerable.
Good luck,
Mark
The hospital that administered the Mab Evusheld called me to follow-up and see if I had any adverse reaction to the procedure. I reported that I had not any reaction whatsoever. I inquired as to how many procedures they had completed. The response shocked me. They had done only 20. I live in an area which has 5 large hospital treatment centers and many oncologists and a population of approximately 60,000.
It revealed that many Drs are not aware of the treatment and we ,the immunocompromised, must be proactive and aware. Talk to your treating Drs.
