4th Moderna (Booster) Shot is Kicking My @$$

Yesterday 1/13 I got the Moderna Booster exactly 5 months after receiving third full dose of Moderna. I was curious how I would react, as I had pretty noticeable side effects with first three shots. Well, at 3am this morning my curiosity was satisfied. It’s kicking my but. Fever (100.9) chills, body aches… lovely. Basically I feel pretty crumby. I took Tylenol at 6 am ( almost 7 am as I write this) so I’m hopeful it will kick in soon.

I measured antibodies against spike protein of >2500 u/ml after third shot so I’m hopeful the booster keeps levels high. With Omicron, more is definitely preferred to less. I should get a labslip from LLS with instructions on when to do next blood draw to test antibody levels.

I’d be interested in orhers’ reaction to 4th shot if and when you get it.

I too had my 4th Covid vaccine on 13th Jan. (I see you're born the same year as me!) I got a much stronger reaction to the vaccine this time than to my previous three vaccines. Yesterday I had a very slightly higher temperature, chills, nausea, achy across my upper shoulders and was generally low in energy. Paracetamol helped me (Tylenol I guess is the same - I'm in UK). Today is a slight improvement. It's not common to get an antibody test in the UK so I'll not know if I do make antibodies, though my haematologist did say he thought I 'probably wouldn't' - cheerful! I would make T cells though which are important too.

Hello kc1953, I had three full strength Modernas with 3-4 days of fatigue, malaise and Fever up to 101. I had my froth Moderna as a booster 1/2 strength and had very little side effects, mild fatigue for less than a full day. I produced 600 antibodies from the third full strength in August and 1100 after the booster received in December and Spike test a month later just the other day.

I am getting EVUSHELD injections today in Florida.
