Ibrutinib and antibodies

Just been told by the hospital that despite 3rd jab hubby has no antibodies. I know some people on Ibrutinib were advised to stop taking it prior to their jabs. Does anyone know if that helped develop antibodies and is something we should follow up prior to his 4th jab (due shortly)?

Hi. I was not asked to stop taking IB prior to any of my three vaccines. I would strongly suggest speaking to his medical team before pausing any medication. Best wishes.

We weren't going to just stop the medication, we wanted to know if it was worth asking them but thanks for your reply

Hi my Consultant says no to stopping ibrutinib he doesn’t think it will make much difference. He also cautioned on Antibody testing as tests measure quantity of antibodies not quality. This means we may have antibodies but they may or may not be of good quality.Ann

Its t-cells (memory cells), that count and Ibrutinib rejuviates t-cells

Hi tubbing, I have been on Ibrutinib for just over seven years and have produced antibodies for covid after 3rd vaccine. My consultant said it was good but not great at 796 units. My Ig levels were all normal except my IgA and IgM were above normal. Jacqueline
