Hot flushes
Anapurna, if you have had the steroid shots that you recently posted about having, that could be what is causing your hot flushes.
The "night sweats" that are indicative of CLL for some, are most often at night Some have reported a bit of flush in day---not sure CLL was ever the culprit, however.
Hi anapurna,

Many of us suspect that CLL causes a "broken thermostat" in our bodies. This link connects to the 12 previous posts that mention "thermostat"

Some suspect that it is like menopause since strange hormones / chemical signals get released in our blood. But we males notice it the most, since we all thought we were invincible and able to tolerate cold and hot weather before CLL.

Hi Anapurna, I don't know your age, but as a female, I have to wonder about menopause too. Hot flashes are a very common symptom of menopause. It hit me like clockwork at age 52, but many friends started getting hot flashes in their 40s. Are you having drenching night sweats, or just hot flashes that come and go? Drenching night sweats can be a symptom of CLL, but night sweats happen with menopause too. 😕
I have day and night sweats, it drives me crazy. Not menopause, it’s CLL. A cytokine storm brings them on all day and night. I change my clothes and sheets multiple times
PacificCLL, I always have a purse size battery fan with me. Even in church! The circulated air helps a lot. I keep a small fan at the side of my bed, keeping air circulating all night. Sandra🙂
Me too I have between 20 to 30 in 24hr period. Not menopause as I've been through that and they were quite different. Most uncomfortable
Yes. In my case, just my face and neck at night.
Hello anapurna
The short answer is yes. I have two or three hot flashes a year where I would be sitting in temperature controled room and profusely sweat for about 10-15 minutes. I also had severe night sweats 2 out of three days before CLL treatment. The night sweats were the worse, I calculated that I would sweat about 4 fluid oz of water a night, literally soaked from torso up. Being a 74 year old male rules out menopause. The night sweats were what lead me to the doctor and CLL diagnosis.
