Any Covid survivors with CLL?
I haven't had Covid, but someone shared this video a couple weeks ago in which Dr. Helen Parry discussed findings of research into vaccine effectiveness for CLL patients.
She mentioned that some of the trial participants showed Covid antibodies (presumably prior to getting the vaccine), but that they had not known they ever had Covid.

Though Covid has hit the sick and elderly the hardest, it's not yet fully understood why it's harder on some and easier on others. And since CLL is a heterogeneous disease and we all come in many shapes and conditions, it may be equally challenging to untangle this particular mystery. I sure look forward to seeing more data asap.
Thanks for posting this question.
I have at present got COVID ☹️ I returned on Monday after 5 weeks in Portugal. I had a fit to fly test on the Saturday which was negative. On my day 2 test although my husband’s was negative my one was positive. I have been on Ibrutinib for nearly 7 years. My symptoms are more like a cold so hopefully won’t get any worse! ☝️Thankfully my bloods are all in normal range with IgG 9.13, IgA 3.13 , IgM 1.29Best wishes Jacqueline
Sorry to hear that, Jacqueline.
Wishing you a quick and complete recovery...

Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery! Hugs…
Sorry, I have to ask… So the airline had no problem flying you home, knowing you’d had a positive Covid test? I’m stunned. Or did I misunderstand?
I had a test on the Saturday night which came back negative. I flew back to Scotland on Monday morning. I wore my mask all during the flight….there was only 34 passengers. I did take my mask off in the airport to have something to eat
Hope you get better soon. I think it might be you picked it up on the plane or in the immigration hall on arrival where from my experience there is no social distancing. I am nervously awaiting the results of my day 2 test though I don't think I've got it. I tested negative pre departure
Thank you Ann 👍
I had Covid in January. Feel free to read my posts. There were quite a few of us who had it at the same time (you might be able to trace their posts from their responses to my posts). The positive is that we all pulled through but it was no joke for neither of us...I do have long covid but it's improving although slowly.
My CLL wife had covid-19 December 19th, 2020 until January 5, 2021. She was then and still is in CLL clinical remission. It hit her pretty hard, but she never needed to be hospitalized. I on the other hand spent 5 days with Covid-19 hospitalized. We are both in our 70's and thought she would handle it badly, but it was I that got double pneumonia and struggled on oxygen for 8 weeks.
As poodle2 posted many of us CLL patients had covid. I got mine late oct 2020 sick for about 3 weeks. took several more weeks to get back to myself. I have plenty of antibodies and have had both shots.....
