Subcutaneous Rituximab is often used and, from memory, there were no differences in efficacy between this method of delivery and the usual intra venous route. However, you have to have an iv treatment before you can have the sc so that any reactions can be quickly dealt with. It's unusual to have a severe reaction to subsequent treatments.Jackie

thanks I am trying to spare my veins by using injection but I have had severe reactions in past but i believe it is due to feeding the rituxan too fast! I have choices of spreading out the treatment or getting it once a month or in a row for shorter time. Of course my insurance might not approve hycela so it won`t matter. Also when i had a BMB there was a mouse protein that showed up and that may indicate resistance to rituxan.
