Novavax vaccine proves effective in clinical trials

This brings the total number of vaccine doses ordered by the UK government to 367 million, including 157 million of vaccines already approved (Pfizer-BioNtech, Moderna, Oxford-Astrazeneca). However, the grand total also includes 60 million doses of a vaccine only now commencing phase 1/2 trials (Valneva) and 60 million doses of a vaccine whose development was suspended after poor responses in older people (GSK-Sanofi).
