I have had testicular cancer luckily caught it early but now have a pituarty tumour and CLL.I have been told this may have been caused by my radiotherapy and chemo i had for my testicular cancer. This year I have lost my dad to lung cancer and my mum 6 months later to lung and liver cancer .Everyone of my close family has had cancer and I am concerned my son 21 and daughter 18 are at high risk .My consultant refuses to start treatment early as both my parents died without treatment .

Hi!

Thats harsh, and I am sorry to learn of your circumstances.

Certain testicular cancers are curable, whether there is a treatment related illness legacy I am not sure.

Have you been advised as to what the pituitary tumour is?

"My consultant refuses to start treatment early as both my parents died without treatment "

I quote you.

This is a most unusual thing to to be told, and I am wondering if I understand you correctly. Your parents dying without treatment would not prejudice you getting treatment.

Welcome back to the Forum after a year posting. We are not experts in medical practice, we are not doctors - but we are experts at being patients. 😉 happy to listen and where we can guide.

Meanwhile stay safe!

My dad was told he had 2 weeks to live given no pain relief or water was lying in bed they said couldn't do anything I had to formally complain to hospital manager to get him pain relief .My mum was told and sent home she had dementia nobody from doctors to Macmillan nurses saw her I complained again they said sent her home to die ,she had no home care and when I visited she collapsed in my arms put on pain driver my mum died in my arms .I explained to my doc that the graphs showed my condition was worsening but was told not getting treatment until seriously ill. I believe it's a money saving exercise for my health board. My tumour was producing prolactin .
