UTI infections

UTI infections are common to both sexes.

I am male and it was recurring UTI infections (for about 3 years) that prompted my GP to investigate the reason. The answer was that I had CLL! and my weakened immune system can’t cope. I have flare ups about every 5 months including prostatitis. I have to take an antibiotic every day and larger doses when a flare up occurs. Geoff

Hi Barney2866-

Thanks for posting this reminder to all of us with CLL, that repetitive infections (bacterial, viral or fungal) are common niggling occurrences.

And if our doctors don't investigate, we should politely assert ourselves.

Steps like regular IVIG infusions or having antibiotics available for fast response might help us avoid fatal events like sepsus that can result from our inadequate immune responses.
