Looking a specialized Naturopath

Hello there! Please can anyone recommend me an experienced Naturopath specialized in oncology?

I am based in Spain, but I imagine virtual consultations are quite normal at the moment.

I have had to advise many members over the years that what they were advised to take for their CLL by their naturopath had good scientific evidence that it might actually be making their CLL worse, based on research papers from reputable sources. It would be an exceptional naturopath that kept up with CLL specific research. Incorrect naturopathic advice is often due to assuming that something shown to be active against a leukaemia would also be active against CLL and hence typically recommending something that showed activity against a myeloid blood cancer not a lymphoid blood cancer like CLL. (There must be over 100 different types of leukaemia and CLL is more correctly a Lymphoma - one of the 80 or so Non Hodgkin's Lymphomas to be precise.) This is why seeing a haematologist or haematologist/oncologist who sees lots of CLL patients is your best choice for a specialist.

Hello Neil, Many thanks for your words of advice and explanation. I always learn something when I read your posts :) and I hadn´t realised there are so many types!

I understand your rationale and in fact I am seeing a haematologist every 2 months. At the same time, while I am asymptomatic and RAI 0, I have decided to do my own holistic work and right now I am seeing if there is a very experienced and updated naturopath or integrative oncologist who fits. Thanks again

This is so important, the care we need when exploring alternative, non mainstream, and most important, UN- evidenced therapies that I want to emphasise AussieNeil s reply which says it all.

There are over 175 Leukaemias - Last I heard a UK CLL Guru speak!

Personally I would in any case always check with my Haematologist / CLL Specialist before consuming non mainstream treatments.

Further - having been on this Forum for a while now - I would always bring such ideas to the Forum - because someone here will have had some experience of the same.

Additionally I would SEARCH the Forum for posts that may have discussed the issue before.

I am always surprised how much knowledge is embedded in the posts.

Finally our Admin Moderator Team know a lot of stuff and are always helpful to guide us.

Best axiom - First do no harm!

Stay safe in lovely Spain

Hello and thanks for the input. Yes I did search posts but didn´t see anyone with experience of naturopaths, only words of caution about high doses of natural substances, which is very useful to hear and bear in mind.

As you say, "First do no harm". Absolutely, I agree. Thanks again
