I scanned them quickly and think there are several useful suggestions in the replies.

When mine was low, my doctor ran a series of blood tests to determine if my bone marrow and circulating blood was not producing enough pre platelet cells, or if there was a auto immune process ( AIHA or ITP ) that was destroying the cells after they were produced. Once that question is answered, then the doctors can dig deeper to find the root cause. Sometimes it is a simple as supplementing certain essential minerals / chemicals like Iron, Ferritin, Folic acid, Vitamin B12 or Vitamin D 3, but it is important to have the doctor determine if any are deficient before starting any supplements. Some like Iron and D3 can cause problems if they are too high, so test before treat. cllsociety.org/cll-101/test...

How low are your platelets? Mine are 87 and I would love to know what I might do on my own to raise them.

Some people say that Papaya leaft extract is useful for raising platelets. I used it for around a year while I was in W&W and my platelets remained somewhat stable prior to my finally starting therapy. It's available on Amazon.

I took the tablets for 100 days: No change.

I tried eating dark green vegetables such as turnip greens but couldn’t see a noticeable improvement.

Hi Ballynb...I am a holistic Nutritionist and the herbal botanical Red Root (Ceanothus americanus) is amazing at raising platelets. I began taking 1 teaspoons 2X a day when my platlets plummeted to 66 when I began Acalabrutinib. They are now up at 125.

What brand of Red Root are you taking and how often do you take it?

Just started using Pomegranate Complex capsules, to early to tell if it is doing any good. I will try the Red Root.

I presume that we are talking about Ceanothus americanus, a species of shrub native to North America. Per Wikipedia, its"common names include New Jersey tea, Jersey tea ceanothus, variations of red root (red-root; redroot), mountain sweet (mountain-sweet; mountainsweet), and wild snowball", but as is not unusual with herbs, there are a couple of other red root herbs. I can't find any mention of red root or the other common names in the Memorial Sloan Kettering integrative medicine herbal database: mskcc.org/cancer-care/diagn...

Oriental-Lily , my platelets plummeted to 29 within a week of starting on Acalabrutinib and recovered to 117 five weeks later, despite an Obinutuzumab infusion ten days before that blood test. After a dip, which at the lowest got to around the 80s (probably due to starting Venetoclax), my platelets stabilised within the range of 100 to 150 about 10 weeks after I started Acalabrutinib, averaging around 130. I can't see how you can credit red root for your platelet recovery when you are also taking a medication which addresses the two prime reasons for low platelets; CLL bone marrow infiltration and an enlarged spleen (both of which caused my low platelet counts).
