Going down the allotment

Hi people

I am at stage A with something like 300 white cells count. My allotment is 5 mins away and few people on it - all very much socially distanced. Can I drive there to plant and water? Have been self isolating for about 5 weeks now and my seedlings are eager for planting out!

Yes, I would say so and it will do you and the plants the world of good. :)

Enjoy

Yes. A normal person can drive a short distance to an allotment to work alone.

With CLL you need to take washing facilities and hand gel to use regularly. Garden gloves a good idea. Sun hat needed.

One of the few joys of lockdown has been working in my back garden. Kept me sane.

Over the next couple of weeks I think a blind eye will be towards slight infringements of lockdown as the public comes out of lockdown rather than the government setting new rules to receive rebuke.

I don't see why not as long as you stay away from others and have a good wash when you get home as I'm sure you would anyway. I have been for a short walk every now and then when nobody has been about. Gardening is so good for physical and mental health and I'm sure your seedlings will be pleased to have room to grow!

I would suggest a mask of some sort because of the closeness to the turned soil holding the possibility of fungi in the air.

But, I can "dig" the refreshing exercise as being otherwise mood lifting giving a feeling of accomplishment and well-being.
