It is printable and can be at the ready for patients/caregivers to check symptoms. I will be printing it and having handy to access after all it could be someone else who will need to read and heed it, if I am incapacitated. The quicker one is gotten to the hospital, the better.
Thanks for this cllady. I also find this explanation helpful because it describes the 3 stages of sepsis and also the temperature, pulse and b/p levels to watch for.
Interestingly I didn’t suffer with most of the symptoms in the link you posted (apart from feeling very unwell) but I was able to rapidly identify sepsis developing by checking basic obs. It’s so important to have a good thermometer and b/p monitor especially if it takes pulse rate too. Regardless of access to these instruments, all CLL’ers should seek immediate help if they have or suspect an infection and begin to feel very unwell.
Newdawn, Thank you for the experienced information and added link. It is so important to be as fast as possible to get help and there are so many possibilities with the the added covid alerts.
Thank you for the information. I was sepsis in 1987. It came from a kidney infection. I was very sick. It took me months to feel better. The doctors said there was no damage to my kidneys . This was years before I was dx with cll. I can't imagine how it would have been like if I had cll at that time.
