From Naked Scientist series - the Naked Geneticist
April15,2020.
Several discussions w international scientist working w the virus using different approaches.
(January 9,2020 is one of the dates of the first complete sequencing of the COVID- 19 virus! in Canada)
The last discussion from a scientist in BRISTOL UK - reveals how the virus mutates in their lab monkeys - keeping the first profile and revealing a later mutation on the short arm of the spike part of the virus - 2 different COVID- 19.
Seems it helps the virus to remain in the system of the host and may make the vaccines very difficult to achieve. Sound familiar? I welcome clarification by our science experts on HU.
To me, it sounded so much like CLL & current CLL treatments; the resistant/refractory behavior & what is seen as the adversity to our current arsenal of therapies.
Certain assumptions in science are expected to pan out. I’m asking our administrative experts if the premises in this discussion are relevant to our understanding of CLL or if I have been quarantined too long - finding connections everywhere!
& at some point - I’m hoping @CajunJeff may have some interest & down time to reduce the podcast to a 101 cliff notes lesson. 😉
Thanks for listening.
