The drug maker says continue taking your usual imbruvica dose at the usual scheduled time the next day. Don't take any extra dose of imbruvica. To help remember, you can get the pill holder with the days of the week and when you look at the pill holder you'll know if you took it. You can also set a daily alarm on your smart phone. Also if you missed it and realize later the same day you can still take it late (some websites say to use a rule of 12 hours or less on the same day)

That happened to me just a few days ago. By time I remembered, it was 12 hours later. So I just waited until next scheduled dose and continued as usual. If I forgot by only 2-3 hours, I would go ahead and take that dose 2-3 hours late.

Nothing happens. I had some nausea about a month ago so I needed to skip my dose. I resumed the next day. When I mentioned it to my specialist he just shrugged his shoulders. I have a picture in my mind that the nasty little cancer cells make a brief one-day comeback but then the Imbruvica resumes beating them to death the next day.

It happened to me a bunch of times, until I got into doing the same thing every morning.....On another note I had to stop taking imbruvica for a medical procedure for two weeks before and two weeks after, during that time my numbers approved and I have been off it for more than a year. I was on imbruvica for more than 2 years....it saved my life . Everyone has CLL slightly differently and no two patients are alike. I told my body a long time ago that I will only do one cancer at a time LOL. All I know for sure is everyday is a blessing, especially everyday without pain. Good Luck, Barger1951

Yes as other's have said, missing a day is no big deal. I had some minor hand surgery last fall and Doc recommended I stop Imbruvica for a week before and a week after. I did not get blood tests before and after but my numbers at my December appointment still looked good. I've been on Imbruvica for two years and 3 months at this point.

I was off of Ibrutinib for 2 months before my ALC stopped falling and began a slow rise.

I have missed doses before with no negative consequence . Once I accidentally took 2 420mg doses in one day . After I took the second dose I freaked out & went to Emergency . After a few phone calls the Emergency Room Dr. assured me that there was nothing to worry about & sent me home .

I thought I had missed a dose a while back. Rather than take the risk I waited until the next day. Now have a daily dosage box and an alarm on my phone plus another alarm 10 minutes after.
