Can CLL cause problems with the nerves in your neck? I am having an MRI because of nerve problems in my hands, it is not Carpel Tunnel, I also have loss of muscle in my legs. Or could it be the fact that I also have diabetes? One more question. Does anyone here know of a good support page for diabetes? I can’t seem to find one here in the USA

I don’t think they really know everything it causes. I think all of us new front line CLL users are kind of like the guinea pigs. With more people using it I’m sure more than things are going to crop up.

Swelling nodes from CLL can press on nerves, causing problems. With about 500 lymph nodes in our bodies, those nerve problems can occur in lots of places, but given the high amount of lymphatic tissue in the neck area, it's more likely there than in the hands.

You are right to question other causes for your nerve problems, with diabetes more probably the cause: mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...

I hope someone can refer you to a good US based site for supporting those with diabetes. CLL and diabetes are not good co-morbidities, so you'll do well to find a community like this one to help you live well with diabetes.

I'm surprised that you didn't receive an earlier reply, but perhaps a more descriptive title would have helped. You might like to change it (via the 'More v' then Edit option you'll find below your post, or else repost, asking specifically for suggestions for diabetes support community recommendations in your post title.

If your next appointments don’t give answers consider seeing an orthopedist. My pain comes from spinal degeneration in the neck area.

I feel your pain Blairzy . I have an appt to see a neurosurgeon next month, the nerve pain in my neck can be very debilitating . I have disc degeneration and a spur in my neck also swollen lymph nodes . I too have problems with my hands and they have ruled out carpel tunnel syndrome . My CLL specialist referred me to see about injections into the nerves 😱 I think ...i stopped listening once I heard injections and nerves 🙉... I’ll keep you posted If you wish .
