Feel pin pricks

For past few weeks I feel pain pricks in both palms. Feeling is spreading to rest of body. My GP says it could be due to low BP. ( 110/66).

Does anyone else has experienced this? Does it indicate cll advancing? I was dx cll over 2yrs ago and am on wnw.

Onco had asked me in January this year to come after 6 months for review. I did not pin prick feeling then.

Vinnet, I obviously couldn’t possibly know or advise on your personal medical situation in any way but I’m throwing this in just for consideration.

Six months ago I commented that your glucose levels were trending up a bit into pre-diabetic range. Feelings of pin pricking are highly consistent with neuropathy caused by consistently high glucose levels. This is something worth discussing with your doctor and to have your Hba1c test re-done.

It could be some nerve impingement in your hands of course like carpal tunnel syndrome but probably not if you’re experiencing it in a more widespread way.

Pin prick sensations are also sometimes associated with panic attacks.

It’s not something I’ve heard associated specifically with CLL.

I thought peripheral neuropathy, PN also... it can be associated with CLL.

Here is a fairly complex paper on it.. its more common than previous believed. Nobody seems to know why it occurs..

Thanks chris

Two good takeaways from the complex article

1. Overall survival rate of CLL is 21yrs

2. TTPN is only 2% and that too after 10yrs from dx. I was dx a little over 2 years . So maybe the pin pricks are not related to cll?

This really surprised me, as I get what feel like pin pricks, mostly in my legs and not very often. Sometimes strong enough for me to go looking to see what it is!

I had no idea this strange feeling could be a recognised 'thing'.

Can anyone tell me if this is something I should tell my Haem. Consultant next week? I have just assumed it was an 'oddity' of my age.

Hello.

What is your age?

I feel as though blood is not going to my hands in proper quantity. This feeling started recently.

I don't feel in my legs, as yet..

I’d love to say 27, but turn it round and you are nearer the mark!

That sounds a strange feeling, too. Do you have poor circulation?

😊😊

I don't know if I have poor circulation

Maybe it’s time to see your GP.
