Hi guys can anyone help or at least let me know we are not alone with this
My husband completed 6 months of FCR chemo FOR CLL finishing last November. Treatment was successful however he now complains on aching joints and muscles especially his shoulders.
Is or has anyone else experienced this and if so what helped???
I had 3 cycles of FCR and in remission since August. I haven't experienced that yet. Once in awhile I wake up with one stiff achy leg. But it goes away once I get out of bed. I have heard other people going thru FCR have had aches. Claritin without D might help. It has helped others. 🙏

I don’t know that anyone has the answer to that. Years ago patients were posting that it helped with bone pain related to Neulasta or neurogenic injections - maybe something discovered by chance. Now patients are posting that their doctor or nurse recommended it. I don’t know that it works for other pain, but it would certainly be worth asking your doctor about trying it.
I found that my vitamin D and B12 levels were very low. Working with my doctor to get them into a healthy range helped my joint pain. It is important to be monitored, if you need to supplement, as individual needs vary greatly.
Magnesium deficiency may be the culprit as it is very common among the general population and is often exacerbated by chemotherapy. If your husband is willing, he can try daily baths (at least 20 minute soak) with plenty of Epsom salts in the water. You can also discuss having his magnesium level checked and possible supplementation with magnesium glycinate with his doctor. Hope this helps!
