Hi RWalker,

There have been several previous discussions about Lymph Nodes in the Lungs.

See: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

"I also have enlarged lymph nodes in both lungs as demonstrated by a chest CT scan. Add to that enlarged nodes behind my breastbone - mediastinum (sp?) and messentary which means internally around my stomach.

A CLL expert Hem/Onc and a CLL experienced radiologist should be able to tell whether the nodules you mention are actually enlarged Lymph nodes. 7 cm is not unusual for Lymph nodes with CLL. A biopsy of those nodules could be used if your CT Scan does not result in a definitive diagnosis. What does your doctor say?

I have some small nodules in my lungs (9mm) that were reduced after 3mos of ibrutinib indicating they may be related to my CLL.

Hi, I have nodules and enlarged lymph nodes in both lungs. Some nodules are greater than 3 cm. Biopsy via VATS determined extranodal marginal zone vs. Sll. The lymphoma is called extranodal because the nodules/tumors/masses are outside the lymph system in the tissue. PET/CT next week to see if obinutuzumab is working on nodules as well as lymph nodes.

I had a CT Scan in July 2017 and follow-up CT Scan in July 2018. Here's the report from 2018 (my hem-onc isn't concerned, so neither am I):

[LUNGS AND PLEURA: There is a 6 mm x 5 mm nodule in the right upper lobe adjacent to the right heart border on series 3: image 89. This is unchanged to the prior exam of 7/14/2017. 3 mm nodule in the left lower lobe on image 100 is new. 2 mm nodule in the left upper lobe on image 51 is not included on the prior study which was performed for cardiac purposes.

MEDIASTINUM: AP window lymph nodes with a node on series 2: image 37, measuring 1.9 x 0.8 cm. Subcarinal node measuring 2.2 x 0.8 cm. These were not included on the prior study either.

Ascending aorta is aneurysmal and measures 3.9 cm, unchanged. No pericardial effusion. No coronary artery calcification].
