Is your wbc going up 3.2 in 1 1/2 months good numbers? I figured I would ask here and get a quicker response
Question : Is your wbc going up 3.2 in 1 1/... - CLL Support
Question
White blood cell count [WBC] fluctuate a lot... in response to all kinds of pathogens.
Like Chris says, it’s not massively significant and could even be subject to lab variations. I’ve been known to jump 40 points in that time and back again due to sub-clinical infection (one I wasn’t aware of). It’s the trends over time that matter.

Your posting today asks if an increase of WBC of 3.2 in 6 weeks is good. And giving medical advice is not allowed here, so we cannot say good or bad, you should get a hematologist's opinion about that.
-
But that amount of change- 20% in WBC could be caused by many factors other than CLL, like a minor infection raising his Neutrophils.
The better metric to track is a value called ALC (Absolute Lymphocyte Count) or Lymph# and the CLL expert doctors don't pay attention to the changes until the ALC is above 30.

I will send you a PM/Chat with links to information you can read while waiting for your husband's upcoming appointment.

Thank you. We still do most of our health care in California and we came and the doctor said she just wanted to take some blood. We see oncologist in February! Anytime we come to California we let our doctor know and she ordered what’s needed. Thank y’all very much
Since you seem to have both Georgia and California choices, you may want to consider finding a top CLL specialist doctor in either state, and get an expert opinion.
We often recommend that since the Mayo clinic has proven clinical data that patients live years longer under the guidance of a CLL expert.

Here is a list of them: cllsociety.org/toolbox/cll-...

We have several members that know the California specialists well, and perhaps some that see the Georgia specialists at Emory. - I would expect that the Atlanta support group meeting will have numerous of their patients attending.
