Stan Kurtz and his team, with help from so many of you, Did it. He swam the Catalina channel and raised his goal of over $25,000 for the CLL Society! It was an exhilarating and exhausting for Patty and me just being on the boat and watching him swim for over 12 hours. Now I need to get some sleep. Thanks in particular to all those who gave or helped with the press and the greetings. SEE: gofundme.com/swimcatalinafo.... The swim was on the local TV news. This will help us to do so much more for others dealing with CLL.
I loved watching Stan's progress and landing (go to his Facebook page - Stan Kurtz to check it out), and tuned in hoping to catch him on the news, thanks to Barb, at the exact moment they started his story.
fundraising for our National Cancer Fund. He will swim 200 km through Dutch canals and lakes. instagram.com/p/Bj8Kd88FNXJ...
A distance that in earlier special cold winters was known as a heroic long distance ice skating event. The special part is that patients decide on which research and treatments the raised money has to be spend. I have so much respect for people like this, giving all to help!
