Hi All just to keep you all abreast of my condition. I had a TKR on October 16 2017. Surgery went well and knee is functioning as predicted. My problem is that my blood test known as D-Dimer has so far not come down to normal as it was prior to my surgery. I stopped taking Inbrutinib (after being on it for 3 years) because of excess bleeding while on the Xerelto. I am still on the blood thinner to prevent a blood clot from occurring. The good thing that has developed is even though I stopped taking the Inbrutinib, my other numbers have been stable. My neutrophils are at 1.25 and my Lymphocytes are at 1.02 and platlets are 140. Have anybody else who has been on Inbrutinib after this length of time gone into remission? and if yes how long could it last?

Thanks Dave

Hiya Dave,

your d-diner probably won’t return to normal in this post op period and doesn’t mean you’ve got a clot in your leg. If they’re worried about that they should do a Doppler scan.

3years on Ibrutinib is good and it sounds like you’re in remission but have you been tested to see if you’re MRD negative? How long can it last - who knows? It probably depends on so many things, most of which we’re not sure of yet. If this is your first treatment then some early patients have been on it for 6years. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for your response. What does the MRD test?

MRD stands for minimal residual disease and it’s a test to see how many CLL cells you have in your blood or bone marrow (done separately).

Less than 1 CLL cell per 10,000 other cells is considered to to MRD negative which is the best complete response you can have.
