My rheumatologist is tracking my serum ferritin levels. Have in the past also my sedimentation rate. A blood test years ago resulted in a result of 5000 for IL-6 when the range goes to 50 as normal. Now my ferritin is down to about 1500. My understanding is that this test measures inflammation.
Given cancer is inflammation, has anyone had experience with this?

Sailorgirl, I found this site helpful information as to the link between inflammation and cancer.
I don't understand it to be saying all cancer is inflammation. It seems to be that a chronic overabundance of inflammation can lead to cancer---so, it looks to be that the bringing down of inflammation can make the course of cancer you have be less progressive at a point.
But, read it, and others will be along to discuss their experiences.
