Hi.

I had an appointment today with my haematologist and was told that I have ATM deletion. Does anyone have any information on this? The proposed treatment is Ibrutinib commencing in the next couple of weeks. I would be grateful for any information on this.

Best wishes

Jeff P

You should ask your Hematologist for specifics but generally this refers to an 11q deletion of the ataxia-telangiectasia-mutated gene.

I was told 3 months ago that I also have ATM deletion and the first treatment that I have been treated with has been the combination of rituximab (1monthly infusion over 6 months, 2 years ago) and Ibrutinib for the last 2 years, as part of the Flair clinical trial in the UK. I will be asking my Consultant next week for more information and what this means in relation to Cll, I have been living with the diagnosis for over 12 years having been diagnosed aged 42.

Hi. Thanks for your reply - interesting combination of rituximab and ibutrinib. I was treated 3 years ago with bendamustine & rituximab but only had 2 years remission. Fortunately my LHA has funding for Ibutrinib, so starting in 2 weeks and see how it goes. Am trying to come to terms with it at the moment. Not an easy task! Best wishes to you in your journey!
