My wife age 58 is in remission from NHL for past one and half years. At the moment she is absolutely fine. However, I am afraid it may not return. What clinical symptoms or lab tests should be watched to know that it is active again. And secondly, is it possible to put the disease into remission again?

Still confused about distinction between CLL and NHL. Are both similar despite technical differences?

CLL is a type of NHL. Someone can be diagnosed as a type of NHL, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have CLL. I would reach out to your wife's doctor about the type of cancer that she has.

At 58, I would be happy about being in remission, and I think it would be a fruitless effort to worry about the possibility of her cancer coming back. Sure, there is a worry. But all of us have one life to live. You want to live your whole life worrying about dying from a plane crash? It is a thing all of us humans have to deal with, we are all going to die, it is inevitable. Don't worry about your wife's cancer coming back, live life for what it is and roll with the punches.

There are many many types of NHL, both low grade (slow growing) and high grade (fast). You should be followed up with regular appointments by your NHL Dr and they will be watchful regarding a relapse.

Even if your wife relapses then there will be several treatment options, depending on how long her remission was, what previous treatment she had and how fit and well she is overall.

As Cpt_N says, the most important thing is to live your lives now, be happy, do stuff and not worry about possible relapse. Let your Dr do that for you.
