Hi Cornishdwarf,

I see you just joined us today. Welcome to the club no one wants to join.

You can see past postings on blood pressure in a box labeled "Related Posts" - upper right column on a computer screen, or way at the bottom on a mobile device. There is also a box marked Pinned Posts that you may want to read.

You will likely get more personal replies if you go back to your post and click the V at the bottom and choose Edit, then click the selection that says "Only followers in my community" and hit POST. That will allow members to respond with their own experience but not have the discussion open to Google searches from the entire internet.

Once that is done- please tell us more about your location, any diagnostics, treatments. etc. that info helps us help you. (I assume from your user name you are in the UK- correct?)

Welcome Cornishdwarf (does this indicate you’re from Cornwall?),

Your b/p is slightly high and worth having a chat to your GP about. No suggestion it’s CLL related but I wonder if you’ve been particularly stressed?

Many of the GP’s surgeries have passed the responsibility for monitoring of b/p levels to the practice pharmacist and I recently had a call asking me to monitor mine at home and send in a weekly log. Keeping our b/p at good levels is important for heart health and sometimes problems with the kidneys pushes up the b/p so worth checking it out for peace of mind.

Best wishes,

Newdawn

I have had high blood pressure all my life. But will under control. When I got diagnosed with CLL and other things that were going on in my life my blood pressure went through the roof. ALOT OF STRESS. I changed my diet and relieved my stress-somewhat. My blood pressure came down . Ending up going to a Cardiologist to have a full checkup. Everything was fine. In fact he wanted to take me off all of my blood pressure meds. The Primary said no. Just wait. And so the story goes. Newdawn had it right. Stress could very well be a factor. I would monitor it on a daily basis and if it continues to be high take it to Primary. My Cardiologist says a blood pressure check is like bloodwork. Look for trends and not just that one or two times.J.R.

Hi, I also joined today. I have had high blood pressure for nearly 20 years (since I was 25). The upper result -160 may be from stress, the lower one is more serious id it goes up. 90 is not very high depending on your age general health confition and habits. Mesure your blood pressure at home- in the morning as soon as you awake and while lying in bed. Then measure it a number of times a day and keep a short diary of what you have been doing just before taking your b.p. You may come to a conclusion bases on analysis that daily activities raise it or not. However if it continues see a cardiologyst and bring your diary. Use very little salt and no fizzy drinks. Good luck!

The infection itself can raise your bp, I think. See if it comes down after the dental work and any inflammation resolves.
